Description
This composite photo is derived from a photograph taken June 5, 2012 in Cuenca, Ecuador, South America from my bedroom office window. The background is a scene near the Sheep River in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada.
I spend hours watching and waiting for these fascinating creatures called a Sparkling Violetear, no bigger than my thumb, to fly up and entertain me. I have been moving the feeder closer and closer, and it is now inside the window about 15 and they continue to come in the house for their dinner.

Then this little guy, who I have now named Tom Thumb, has graduated to eating from my hand. See http://youtu.be/hQEkObLN9Ag

Beautiful photograph Al ... stunning. Do the locals think you a little strange or are they aware of their new birdman? Instant Fave!
Al Bourassa replied:
HaHa, I am the only white face in the neighborhood, so yeah, they definitely think I am strange. The kids are enthralled when they see me feeding Tom. Thanks Seth.
