Description
This artwork is derived from a photograph taken May 28/14 in Cuenca, Ecuador, South America from my bedroom office window. I spend hours watching and waiting for these fascinating creatures called a Sparkling Violetear, no fatter than my thumb, to fly up and entertain me. I had been moving the feeder closer and closer, and it is now inside the window about 15” and they continue to come in the house for their dinner.

Then this little guy, who I have now named Tom Thumb, has graduated to eating from my hand. See http://youtu.be/hQEkObLN9Ag
