Description
Roaming around the eastern edge of Cuenca we frequently get a view of this distinctive flat mountain which we know as El Tablon, but apparently the natives call it Pachamama. It is situated above the town of Llacao and the summit is uninhabited except for an abandoned catholic church.
We finally found the route to get up there and the views from there are magnificent and 360.
It was once considered as a natural site for a new airport for Cuenca but it was deemed to be too windy, and it was heavily opposed by the indigenous population of the area.
This digitally altered artwork is derived from my photograph taken Apr 15/16 from Paccha, near Cuenca, Ecuador, South America nestled in the Andes Mountains.
