Description
One of the New Year's traditions in much of South America is the burning of effigies at midnight, representing all the bad things that happened in the past year (you include a list of these bad things). First you buy a dummy made of stuffed clothing, then you add a mask representing something you like or hate, or you buy a complete set.
This display contains some of the many choices of masks available, with many of them representing politicians, or even cartoon characters.
This digitally altered artwork is derived from a photograph taken Dec 28/15 in Cuenca, Ecuador, South America nestled in the Andes Mountains.
