Description
This is just a small portion of the generally organic vegetable, fruit, meat, fish and clothing market called El Arenal, or more commonly, Feria Libre. On Wednesdays and Saturdays the number of vendors easily doubles and the meat and fish is the freshest.
Because of the immense competition, and the lack of marketing skills, many of these vendors barely make enough to live on. Most vendors have their children with them because they have noone to look after them and they certainly cannot afford babysitters.
This digitally altered artwork is derived from my photograph taken Aug 30/17 in Cuenca, Ecuador, South America nestled in the Andes Mountains.
Cuenca is a World Heritage Site.
Final processing done with Smart Photo Editor and Photoshop.
