Description
The Galápagos Islands are a volcanic archipelago about 1,000 km (620 mi) west of the Ecuadorian mainland. Spanish explorers, who discovered the islands in the 16th century, named them after the Spanish galápago, meaning tortoise.
This digitally altered artwork is derived from a photograph taken February 15, 2013 on Santa Cruz in the Galapagos Islands belonging to Ecuador.
Final processing done with Smart Photo Editor and Photoshop.
