Description
Huayna Capac is the Inca king who tried to unite the Incas with the Canari tribes of this region by marrying a Canari princess. However the Canari aligned themselves with the invading Spanish to oust the Incas. There are several Inca ruins throughout Ecuador, including the ruins on Pumapungo in Cuenca which is overseen by this statue.
This artwork is derived from a photograph taken July 21/17 in Cuenca, Ecuador, South America nestled in the Andes Mountains.
Cuenca is a World Heritage Site.
