Artist's Description
This artwork is derived from a photograph taken form Turi of the western end of Cuenca, Ecuador, South America, nestled in the Andes Mountains. Cuenca has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Turi overlooks Cuenca to the north and the white church is easily seen from central Cuenca day or night. It is a must-see spot for any visitor.

Hi Elaine. Actually no, I would be way to the right, way out of the picture to the east. In fact, you cannot quite see my area from Turi because of trees and a little bump called the Andes.

Love it, Al! Such a colorful place...I can't imagine living where mountains are..the few times I have visited Colorado and the times we've gone to Nevada and Utah I just couldn't get over the presence of the mountains, they seem to draw me in, even while being in the city I could feel them..Strange, lol! I guess someone not use to massive pine trees might feel the same way visiting my neck of the woods. ; )

Hi KIm. I am a prairie boy, going from the flattest land in the world to the Rockies in Alberta, then the Andes in Cuenca. There is nothing more refreshing than clean mountain air and the communication with the majesty of nature. Mountains are truly humbling and give a person an incentive to be a bigger part of the world scene. When the sun shines here it is truly a magical place to be.
